"Spring Dogwoods"

Welcome delicate little bloom
That God sends to drive away winter's gloom
His choice must have been inspired
Because you arrive so brightly attired.

From among the wooded hills so bleak
Your gorgeous blooms always peek
You light up the valleys and streams
And remind us all of forgotten dreams.

Spring is here when you appear
And joyous songs we do hear
Songs of happiness and delight
Ring through our minds with such delight.

Welcome to this world so cold and brown
We know green will soon abound
Your arrival hails the time of dreams
And the creation of many beautiful scenes.

Your friends the Redbud follow soon
And then the Azaleas generously bloom
Lighting up the rolling hills
Helping banish all of winters chills.

Although your color soon changes to green
Your message is just what is seen
Spring is here for another year
So let's all give a welcome cheer.
