NEW LOVE

New love is exciting and great fun
You are so sure you have found the right one.
You know this time her love will be true
Not like the last one that left you blue.

She flashes that pretty coy smile
And after a while she tries to beguile.
The anticipation and intrigue have started
You hope in your heart you will never be parted.

We start the whirlwind courtship
That is so necessary for a relationship.
There is the "out of the blue" phone call
And you buy tickets to the black tie ball.  

You hope your mind is not playing tricks
Can you conceivably be the one she picks. 
Will this go from a telephone ring
To wearing a diamond wedding ring. 

Surrender to the thought and love me
I promise we will forever live happily. 
If for some reason we ever part
It surely and completely will break my heart.
