The quiet hush of a twilight snowfall
covers the ground and muffles the sound.
It is followed by the sight of a sunrise like a red ball
as the dreams of a new day surely abound.
The tree filtered light of dawn gives way to sun
and it is hard to remember all the grief we have known.
Ahead lies the task of finding a way to have some fun
and trying not to get melancholy when we are alone.
The long walks alone on an empty beach
as the sandpipers keep just out of the waves.
The lunch eaten alone when friends are out of reach
and going to a movie that got all the raves.
The friend that sometimes seeks your counsel and advise
as best friends are easier to confide in than a spouse.
It is the relationship that flourishes no matter what life might devise
and overcoming all the objections when we are inclined to grouse.
The darkened room in front of the computer screen
enjoying the hours of chatting in a friendly room.
We bridge the gap and overcome the urge to scream
by reading senseless drivel written by some boob.
Enjoying the music that we like to hear and inviting
it into our mind to help soothe some heart ache.
It is the search for a soul mate that is still exciting
as we know the wrong choice may result in heart break.
