Four
Visitors
Thursday
evening brings a knock on my door
There stands visiting ladies numbering four
Hello's, hugs, and kisses from each heart
pour.
For the group this is visit number four.
There's
"lead foot" Janie, "shopper"
Patty
"Jovial" Juanita and "quilter"
Martha
Arms full of gifts from "mutton" to
"frogs"
We'll eat till we are full and so will the dogs.
Up
and out at the crack of day
There's a bargain to find on "antique"
day
The trick is to know if it's
"treasure" or junk
When in doubt ask Patty how much money to plunk.
Laugh
and giggle, hoot and shout
The sounds they make is what life is about
Add Marie's special wit to the bunch
And then there is no time to stop for lunch.
Bill
brings the shrimp and Frank grills the steak
Careful what you reach for cause a hand may
break
Green Beans cooked in ham and a bowl full of yam
There's rum cake and another made of Blackberry
jam.
The
days fly by too fast for us all
We all hate to see the end of this
"ball"
The car is packed as full as a tick
And fitting everyone into it sure is a trick.
Goodbyes
are said with tears in our eyes
This is the time of the visit I despise
Plans for next years visit are made
And off down the road the car starts to fade.
