The above Monument stands in the center of the cemetery. The inscription reads "Sacred to the memory of Confederate Soldiers who died at Camp Moore. Buried 1861 - 1865. Twine a garland, drop a tear, O'er Louisiana's unnamed dead who slumber here."
The cemetery was dedicated on June 3rd, 1905. The monument was unveiled on October 24th, 1907. It now stands a silent vigil over the gravesites of hundreds of men who are now unknown to all but God.
