All images were made using Corel Draw 6. I exported the cdr images to pcx format with dithering but with the anti-aliasing de-selected. The pcx images were assembled with Gif Construction Set. This is a great program with a very friendly animation wizard and editing features. Thank you Gif Construction. Some distortion to color and line quality often occurs during the dithering and conversion process. The original images can be obtained from me upon request. The Motor represents the four strokes of a common, in years past, gasoline motor. Please forgive the placement of the fuel bowls. The original images were of a single piston in the upright position. I added valves, spark plug, fuel bowl and exhaust. The orientation was still vertical. I was encouraged with the result enough to add another cylinder by rotating the assembly and mirroring. There was a lot of work involved getting the strokes in the correct order since I had mirrored the right cylinder and had to connect the two rods to the rod journal. I just didn't have the energy to redo the fuel bowls. Besides, I still had to build a timing belt with sprockets. (The sprockets were easy, but synchronizing the belt was a bitch.) Of course there can be a lot more work done on the motor since it doesn't have a cam, push rods, rocker arms, or even a distributor. Maybe later. Note: This motor runs on special silicon impregnated bearings requiring no oil. At least I won't have to put in an oil pump.
