Training
Our organization has a 75 ft high training hill in the Gurley, Alabama area. We have a USHGA appointed instructor. Training takes place every Saturday morning, weather permitting. It is best to contact us in advance to confirm training will be taking place. All necessary equipment is furnished to the student up through their first mountain launch. After 8-12 lessons, the student progresses to their first "mountain" flight from the top of 1000' high Keel Mountain. After the instructor has determined the student's competency, the decision to move up to this step is left up to the student. The student will continue to train at the training hill until they are confident about their first mountain launch. Please feel free to come out and watch even if you don't plan to participate.
Price:
Two day lesson: $150 (Includes all equipment, student will make short flights from training hill)
Mountain Package: $725 (Includes all training and equipment for 3 supervised mountain launch and USHGA "Novice" rating.)
