COMPARING USE OF RESOURCES
INSTITUTIONAL CHURCH vs HOME
CHURCH
This charts will illustrate how
inefficient a IC (institutional church) is.

Note on chart statistics
- IC (Institutional Church) is a typical 50 member church
with the total monthly income of $4000. The monthly
offering for each person is $80.00 or $20.00 per week. We
based the Pastors salary at $400 per week or $1600 a
month. The music minister at $100 per week or $400 for a
total of $2000. The mortgage is $1000, utilities $400
(gas, lights, phone, water). We allowed $200 for supplies
for upkeep (service calls, cleaning, ect). We allotted
$375.00 for ministry functions (Sunday School supplies,
revivals, bibles and hymnals, homecomings and ministry
related costs). Note that only $25.00 is left for
benevolence, or the poor, hungry or needy. This is a poor
waste of money that could be used to minister (give) to
the needy. Think of the waste with 2000 members! Notice
the majority of money is spent on buildings and leader's
salaries ($3,400.00). The percent of the total used for
ministry to peoples needs is -- .0062% ! (less than 1%)
- Compare this to a home church (HC, in the blue) with 10 people. Each
only gives only $5.00 a week, or $200 a month. The
difference is the there is almost no cost involved.
$25.00 is spent for supplies (printing, postage, food)
but the rest is for people! Notice that with no overhead,
$175.00 of the total ($200) go to benevolence and
ministry. This equals 87.5%.
This was the way of the early church! More is done with less!!!

2Cor.8:13-15, James 2:15-17 )
