JOHN WESLEY TERRY, JR.
Funeral services were held for John Wesley Terry, Jr., who passed away February 27 at Oakview Nursing Home in Waverly Hall. Services were held March 1 with Reverend William Searcy officiating. Interment was in New Hope Cemetery in Manchester.
Mr. Terry was born in Meriwether County, the son of the late John Wesley Terry, Sr., and the late Mary Terry.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Thompson and son-in law, Sam Thompson, both of Manchester; four grandchildren, Brittini, Sam, and Ralph, all of Manchester and Abena of Barnesville; a host of cousins and friends. One son, Stanley Terry, preceded him in death.

ALFRED COLQUITT MCRAE
July 21, 1936 - February 25, 2001
Alfred Colquitt McRae, 64, of McDonough, died February 25 in Largo, Florida. Funeral services were conducted February 28 at Smith-Steele-Meadows Chapel in Manchester with Dr. Bob Patterson officiating. Burial followed at Warm Springs City Cemetery.
Mr. McRae was born July 21, 1936 in Meriwether County, son of the late Herman and Nell Duncan McRae. He was an orthotist, was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, having served during the Korean War and was a member of Warm Springs First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Jody L. Henson; Jackie L. McWhorter, and Jenny L. Christian, all of McDonough; one son, Herman "Mac" McRae, also of McDonough; one sister, Mary Nell Brown of Marietta; and nine grandchildren.

ANDREW JACKSON FUNDERBURK
March 9, 1930 - February 28, 2001
Andrew Jackson Funderburk, 70, of Warms Springs, died February 28, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. The funeral service was held at Mt. Hope Baptist Church March 2 with Reverend Sanford Colquitt officiating, assisted by Reverand Jesse Gordy. Burial was at Meriwether Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers wree Earl Presley, Anthony Garrett, Andy Whatley, Scott Whatley, Wayne Grantham, and Bob Blazis.
Mr. Funderburk was born March 9, 1930 in Meriwether County, son of the late William A. Funderburk, Sr., and the late Opal McRae Funderburk. He was a truck driver for New Morn Foods Co., was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lancaster Funderburk of LaGrange; one daughter, Sharon Funderburk, also of Warm Springs; one stepson, William Lancaster of LaGrange; two sisters, Mary Francis Haywood of Warm Springs and Gladys Mills of Manchester; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Bryan.

Albert P. Foster, 81, of Tallahassee, Florida died February 6 at Altamonte Springs, Florida. Funeral services were held February 9 at Sardis Methodist Church with burial at Meriwether Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
Mr. Foster was born in Talbot County and lived in Tallahassee since 1976 before moving to central Florida in early 2001. He was retired from the State of Florida Dept. of Health and Rehabilitative Services and was a former Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Florida. He was a member of Sigma Chi and Phi Beta Kappa and served for 25 years in the US Naval Reserves, retiring as a Commander in 1976. He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, Tallahassee and a charter member of the Rotary Club of Arlington (Florida). He also served three terms as president of both the Florida Voluntary Health Association and Blairstone Homes Association.
He is survived by a sister, Leila Braddy of Manchester; a son, Kevin Foster of Lake Mary, Florida; a sister, Julie Foster Muller of Portland, Oregon; two granddaughters, Laura and Melanie Foster of Lake Mary and one grandson, Olam Muller of Portland.

David Henry Parker, 76, died at his home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi February 14. Mr. Parker was cremated and a family memorial service is planned for a later date.
Born in Conyers on March 4, 1924, Mr. Parker resided in Warm Springs for a number of years where he owned and operated the Hotel Warm Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Parker of Hattiesburg; five children, Valerie House of Hattiesburg, Mark Parker, Mike Parker and Lisa Butts, all of Warm Springs, and Kim Wilson of LaGrange; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Wiley of College Park and Mrs. Jeannie Poulos of Daytona Beach, Florida and nine grandchildren.

RUPERT E. WOOD
March 24, 1940 - February 22, 2001
Rupert E. Wood, 60, of Greenville, died February 22 at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service was conducted February 24 in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Clifton Hicks officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Pallbearers were Tim Steele, Joe Kimbrell, Bobby Manley, Rodney Steele, Brian Wood, Daniel Braswell, and Rocky Steele.
Mr. Wood was born March 24, 1940 in Forsyth County, son of the late Eugene and Mintie Fowler Wood. He had lived in Greenville for the past 25 years and was retired from the Atlanta News Agency.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Shirley McKelvey Wood of Greenville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria and Bobby Manley of Griffin, Arlene and Tim Steele of Luthersville, and Mrs. Lori Kimbrell of Manchester; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Cindy Wood of Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Omogene McGinnis, Mrs. Ruby Williams of Conyers, and Miss Dorothy Wood of Alpharetta; three brothers, Charles Wood of Cumming, Jewel Wood of Sandersville and Lewis Wood of Tucker; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Ida Christine Reynolds, 71, of Woodbury, died March 5 at Molena Nursing Home in Molena. Funeral services were conducted March 8 at the Chapel of Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home in Woodbury with Reverend Jimmy Bowden officiating. Burial followed at Meriwether Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Jody Stewart, Timmy Stewart, Robbin Stewart, Jerry Brown, Marvin Pough, Derrick Snelson, and Bobby Gordy.
Mrs. Reynolds was born August 27, 1929 in Pike County, daughter of the late Inus and Miriam Bridges Stribling. She was retired from Nabisco and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Hassel Reynolds of Woodbury; one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Beth Reynolds of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Robert Stribling of Molena; one sister, Mary Jane Stewart of Woodbury; one granddaughter, Faith Reynolds; two step granddaughters, April and Brandi.

Gene Autry Betsill, 60, of Woodbury, died March 18 at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital in Warm Springs. Funeral services will be held March 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home in Woodbury with Reverend Ed White officiating.
Pallbearers will be Pete Burns, Jason Burns, Jimmy Roberts, Mike Bailey, Michael Betsill, Jr., and Chuck Russell. Burial will be at Banks Cemetery in Fayette County.
Mr. Betsill was born June 8, 1940 in Fayette County, son of the late Dan Timmons Betsill and the late Dora Fannie Morris Betsill. He was a self-employed roofer and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Charlene Long Betsill on Woodbury; four sons, Michael Betsill of Manchester, Stanley Betsill of Rossville, Jimmy Roberts of Flat Rock, Alabama and Mitchell Roberts of Woodbury; three daughters, Tammy Betsill and Rhonda Bailey, both of Manchester, and Crystal Russell of Barnesville; one brother, Charles Betsill of Griffin; and one sister, Lucille Eubanks of Zebulon; 18 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

MRS. MARY KISTLER STOREY

Mrs. Mary Kistler Storey, 89, of Warm Springs, died March 25 at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital in Warm Springs. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 28 at Meriwether Memory Gardens, with the Reverend Stan Rogers officiating, according to Cox Funeral Home of Manchester.
Mrs. Storey was born October 31, 1911 in Atlanta, the daughter of the late W. H. and Molly Kistler. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Warm Springs. Mrs. Kistler was a foster parents for many years, and the widow of James W. Storey.
Survivors include a niece and nephew-in-law, Martha and Clyde Gregory of Columbus; a nephew and niece-in-law, W.H. "Buddy" and Helen Cartwright of Salem, Alabama; her foster sons, James Meeks of Columbus, Allen Meeks of Wisconsin, Larry Stewart of Los Angeles, California, Levonn Evans of Mobile, Alabama, Norman Vinson of Austell, and several other nieces and nephews.

Sammuel (Big Red) Marshall, 68, of Manchester, died March 21 at The Medical Center in Columbus. Funeral services were conducted March 26 at Bridge Street Church of God in Christ in Manchester with Elder Gregory Mitchell officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery in Manchester.
Mr. Marshall was born April 4, 1932 in Talbot County, son of the late Sam and Lina Marshall. He joined the New Hope Baptist Church at an early age and served as Junior Superintendent of Sunday School.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine (King) Marshall; one son, Gerald Marshall of Atlanta; one daughter Mary Jo (Curtis) Lawson, of Manchester; one brother-in-law, Irvin (Ruby) King of Detroit, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Mary N. Marshall of Manchester, Mildred Reeves of Atlanta; one uncle, John Chambers of New Jersey; one aunt, Beatrice Trammell of Atlanta; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two nieces; a host of relatives and friends.
