MRS. LELIA FOSTER BRADDY
August 13, 1913 - February 12, 2002
Mrs. Lelia Foster Braddy, age 88, of Rt. 1, Box 71, Shiloh, and the Flint Hill area of Talbot County, died at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital, Warm Springs on February 12.
Funeral services were held February 14 at Sardis United Methodist Church in Talbot County. Burial was at Meriwether Memory Gardens near Manchester with Rev. Cary Hicks officiating.
Mrs. Braddy was born August 13, 1913 to the late Albert B. Foster and the late Jennie Chapman Foster. She was retired from Goody Products in Manchester where she worked in the packing department.
She was survived by a daughter, Barbara Jean Harper of Shiloh; three sons, Raymond Braddy of Fitzgerald, Edwin Braddy of Manchester, and Donald Braddy, also of Manchester.
Mrs. Braddy was preceded in death by her late husband, H. Adrian Braddy; a son, Melvin Braddy, and grandson, Boyd Lee Bryant.

James Allen Lackey, Sr., 81, of Route 1, Box 103, Adams Street, in Talbotton passed away at his residence on Monday, February 25.
Graveside services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion Church Cemetery with the Reverend Richard Pound and the Reverend Ben Guined officiating.
Mr. Lackey was born May 15, 1920 in Berkley County, South Carolina, the son of the late John Young Lackey and Elizabeth Shipman Lackey. A US Army Veteran, he retired with 42 years service as a C.S.X. Railroad Signal Inspector. He was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Rakoske Lackey of Talbotton; a daughter, Angela (Tommy Lee) Neely of Manchester; six sons, James Allen (Dianna) Lackey, Jr., Danny Joe (Tina) Lackey and William Arthur (Tammy) Lackey, all of Woodland, Dennis Charles (Angel) Lackey of Manchester, John Robert Lackey and Jimmy Dean (Jeana) Lackey, all of Talbotton; a sister Katherine Preston of Surfside Beach, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gamble was born April 25, 1945, in Manchester, son of the late Willie Frank and Rosa M. Gamble.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucinda M. Gamble; two sisters, Ms. Annie Grace Leath, and Ms. Martha A. Gamble; one brother, Jesse J. (Geneva) Gamble; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

Ms. Gray was born June 22, 1956 in Manchester, daughter of the late Ms. Bernice Morris and the late Thomas Henry Gray. She was a member of the Mt. Sinai C.M.E. Church where she served faithfully as church secretary and worked diligently with the children and youth department. She was a homemaker and graduated from Manchester High School in 1974.
Survivors include a daughter LaShundra (Frank Alford) Gray; two sons, ElJuan and Juan Gray; grandmother, Miss Odessa Ray of Molena; two sisters, Mrs. Shirlene (Levi) Campbell and Letha Marie Morris; two grandsons, GuVares and TaVon Gray; three nieces, Monique, Cherly, and Trudum Morris; two nephews, Levi, Jr and Tereon Campbell; four aunts, Ms. Willie Mae Walker, Ms. Ida Mae Chaney and Ms. Sara Miller, all of Manchester and Mrs. Jennie (Lamar) Mangham of Molena; two uncles, Willie Gene Morris and Josh Gray, both of Manchester; a special friend, Kervin Ferguson, also of Manchester; a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Reddout was born January 3, 1930 in Yates, New York, son of the late George and Adeline Dewey Reddout. He was a retired molding supervisor at Goody Products and was a veteran of the US Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Carney Reddout of Manchester; one daughter, Linda (Richard) Thompson of Beaver Falls, NY; one grandson, Tod (Christine) Hamburg of Levittown, NY; one granddaughter, Kristen Thompson, also of Beaver Falls; and one great-granddaughter, Allyssa Hamburg.

Mr. Willingham was born January 3, 1920, son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Willingham in Atlanta. He was educated in Atlanta, joined the US Army in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was employed by Crawford Long Hospital until he retired in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Christopher Willingham; children, Joseph Brooks, Josette Willingham, Marian Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Willie (Mattie) Green, and Mr. and Mrs. John (Jackie) Gamble, all of Atlanta.; 13 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Rayburn Calvin Payne, 79, of Warm Springs, died March 2, at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Payne was born December 25, 1922 in Hopkins County, Texas, son of the late John Rhodes Payne and the late Bertha Belle Banta Payne. He was a retired policeman for the Sacramento, California Police Department and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Jean Russel Tresca of Warm Springs; one brother, John H. Payne, also of Warm Springs; two sisters, Beulah Slater of Seattle, Washington, and Mickey Ayers of Sacramento, California.

Ms. Jo Ellen (Jody) Passarelli, 49, of Columbus, formerly of Pine Mountain Valley, died March 2 at the Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services were held March 4 at the Pine Mountain Valley Church of God with the Reverend Sanford Colquitt officiating and the Rev. Robert Presley assisting, with burial in the church cemetery.
Ms. Passarelli was born July 8, 1952 in Hamilton, daughter of Clifford Eleanor Spence Passarelli and Joe Passarelli. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Phoenix House, Waverly Hall, was a member of the Pine Mountain Valley Church of God and had lived in Hamilton most of her life.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford Mannix McGuire of Pine Mountain, and Rev. Brian Keith McGuire of Columbus; two sisters, Doloris Harrison of Columbus and Theresa Colquitt; one grandson, Drew McGuire of Pine Mountain and Nana to Brittney, Christopher and Kyle Mitchell of Columbus.

Mrs. Bessie Mae Mobley-Marshall, 69, of Warm Springs, died February 25 at Kindred Hospital of Atlanta. Funeral services were held March 2 from the Leverette Hill Baptist Church of Warm Springs with Pastor T.W. Neal officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Marshall was the daughter of the late Joe and Bessie Barber-Mobley and the widow of the late Willie Lee Marshall. She was a member of the Leverette Hill Baptist Church and served on the Usher and Missionary Boards. She retired from the Warm Springs Foundation with thirty years of service.
Survivors include five children, Shirley A. Marshall of Atlanta, Willie Mae Marshall of Warm Springs, Michael Marshall of Decatur, Diane Marshall of Atlanta, Randy (Rhonda) Marshall of College Park; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Virginia Mobley of Atlanta; one brother, Joe Mobley of Talbotton.

Mr. Register was born October 13, 1951 in Clairmont, Florida, son of the late Stelson W. "Bud" Register and Allie Worley Register. He was a heating and air service technician and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cataula.
Survivors, other than his mother, include two sons, Noel D. Register of Waverly Hall and Eric Register of Ellerslie; two sisters, Vina N. Poole of Tallahassee, Florida and Virginia Fay Smith of Manchester and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home of Manchester March 5 with the Reverend Sidney Tate officiating, assisted by the Reverend Duffey Gill. Burial was at Manchester City Cemetery with Bonnie Sherrer, Larry Bishop, Billy Caldwell, Jerry Spinks, Stanley Bishop, and Martin Gibson serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Corley was born December 28, 1909 in Birmingham, Alabama, daughter of the late Alex and Kate Knight Gill. She was a retired school teacher, having taught 35 years, was a member of the Manchester First United Methodist Church and the Iris Garden Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Rasbury of Woodbury and Alexa Meadows of Manchester; one son, John Allen Corley of LaGrange; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Corley, Jr.

Mrs. Burnett was born July 1, 1939 in LaGrange, daughter of Garland and Viola Pearson. She was a nurses aide and had worked for Med Craft Nursing Facility and Royal Elaine Nursing Home in LaGrange. She was a member of the Cedar Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Burnett of Manchester; three daughters, Teresa Hamilton of Greenville, Phyllis Shoemaker of Dearing, and Dana Lawyler of Hogansville; two sons, James Garland Burnett and Timothy Shane Burnett, both of LaGrange; two brothers, Warren A. Pearson of Reynolds and Hilton Kenneth Pearson of LaGrange; one sister, Katrina Nixon of LaGrange; and seven grandchildren.

Burial was at Bethesda Church Cemetery in Manchester.
Mrs. Bridges was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Elkins Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Harvery and Mrs. Geneva Taylor, both of Thomaston; two sons, Sammy Bridges of Woodbury and James Bridges of Thomaston; one sister, Mrs. Grace Smith, also of Thomaston; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held February 21 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, Alabama with Dr. Russell Dean officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanett.
Born March 12, 1991 in Sandersville, Mrs. Heath was a retired employee of West Point Pepperells Lanett Mill. She was a member of Lanett First Baptist Church and was the daughter of the late Katie Lou Genia Womble Ross and Garrett Ross.
Mrs. Heath is survived by her sister, Iris Waller of Manchester.

Pallbearers were Dan Branch, Jimmy Gilbert, Steven Lovett, David Lovett, Tom Johnson, and Brian Walls.
Mrs. Lovett was born July 29, 1915 in Pike County, daughter of the late John and Omie McCrary Riggins. She was retired from the Spinning Room at Callaway Mills, Manchester, and was a member of the Woodbury Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Lovett of Woodbury; Tom Lovett of Newnan, and Jack Lovett of Mignaopy, Florida; one sister, Myrtle Ward of Thomaston; one brother, Billy Riggins of Molena; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Lovett, and a son, John Lovett.

Mrs. Jeanette Daniel Moon, 88, of Woodland, passed away March 16 at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Nursing Home in Warm Springs. Graveside services were held March 18 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Cook, her former pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles Chapman, pastor of Faith Baptist Church of LaGrange.
Mrs. Moon was born October 11, 1913 in Woodland, daughter of the late Jennie Simmons Daniel and the late Jefferson Davis Daniel. She was a member of the Woodland Baptist Church. Mrs. Moon, along with her husband, Henry Jefferson Moon, managed the Alms House (now Muscogee Manor Nursing Home) in Columbus and later there were in charge of concessions and security at Flat Rock Park.
Survivors include one son, R.J. "Buddy" Moon of Woodland; one granddaughter, Crystal Moon of Woodbury; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Moon.

Entombment followed at the Woodland Mausoleum with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. York was born October 9, 1918 in Houston County, daughter of the late Grady C. and Lena Agnes Giles Leverett. She was a homemaker and was a member of Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church in Woodland. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Carr.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie York of Thomaston; a daughter, Mary Jane Berard of Concord, NC; two sons, Jimmy Carr of Greenville, and Earl Carr of Lexington, NC; a stepdaughter, Sandra Saulter of Thomaston; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kellum was born January 1, 1917 in Talbot County, a son of the late Walter J. "Bully" Kellum and the late Magie Theo Watkins Kellum. He retired from the weave shop of Callaway Mills and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Manchester First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, M.L. "Tub" and Margie Kellum of Manchester.

Finis Ronald Jones, Sr., 53, of Warm Springs, died March 12 at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital, Warm Springs. Graveside services were held March 14 at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Durand with Rev. Gene Davis officiating.
A former resident of Suwanee, Mr. Jones was born April 6, 1948 in Shelby County, Tennessee, as son of the late Finis Burrow Jones and Vera Iverson Jones. He was a 1967 graduate of LaGrange High School and attended Georgia Southwestern College. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and the First Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville. He worked as a drafting engineer, was an amateur radio operator for 37 years and was an avid model train collector. He was a past member of the Military Amateur Radio Society.
Survivors include his mother, Vera I. Jones of LaGrange; wife, Carolyn Crowder Jones of Warm Springs; one son, Finis Ronald Jones, Jr. Of Atlanta; one daughter, Jennifer Anne Jones of Duluth; one brother, Mark Steven Jones of Wales, Wisconson; one sister, Terri Jones Redmond of LaGrange.

On March 19, 2002, Dr. Thomas C. Davis died in Athens Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Dr. Davis and his wife had relocated from Dahlonega to Woodbury last year.
Dr. Davis was born in Covington, attended North Georgia College and earned a Ph.D from Florida State University. Dr. Davis taught chemistry at North Georgia College when he served as department head and pre-med advisor. Before his retirement, he also served as registrar and director of admissions.
Dr. Davis was active in the community, serving on the Dahlonega City Council for eight years and as mayor of Dahlonega for two year.
Dr. Davis is survived by his mother, May Celia Davis; his wife, Betty Haneken Davis, formerly of Manchester; children Robert Davis, Suzanne McKeithan, David Davis and Christopher Davis; and grandchildren Amanda and Aaron McKeithan, Karyn Davis and Ian Davis.
