| Gary Hoey's Six Minute
Trill Drill - Gary Hoey recommended this
exercise to build up your finger strength and
control of your left hand at a recent guitar clinic here in
Orlando. Try it out. With your first finger
on any fret, start doing trills (hammer on and
pull off) with your fourth (pinky) finger. Do
this for one minute. Repeat with the following
finger combinations each for one minute: 1&4,
1&3, 1&2, 2&4, 2&3, 3&4
There are only six
combinations (thus the name) and after a few
weeks of this your control will increase along
with your endurance. This is a pretty quick daily
routine that won't take too much time from fun
practice.
