Walter Trout is real, 100% real music and ability. There's nothing artificial or fake about his show or his music. Every sound that you hear and every note that is played is 100% tone which comes from his fingers and his skill. All the sound coming at you is fed direct into the amp from his guitar without any effects, stomp boxes, or artificial sound enhancements of any kind. The only thing between Walters guitar and his amp is a 20 foot cable. It's amazing how much tone and sound comes from his fingers and manipulation of the guitars volume control and pickup configurations. Making his guitar talk with complete conversations between a man and woman having an argument and making up is just one of the highlights of the evening. Walter has obviously paid attention to Roy Bucannan and incorporated some of his style into his playing. He is not a one trick pony though..Walter Trout can play fast, slow, soulful blues, and rock with the best of the players out there. He was voted #6 on the list of the 20 greatest guitar players of all time in the UK, only two votes behind Jimmy Page (out of 100,000 votes cast!!!) This guy can play, and I feel lucky to have been able to see him live. Working as a sideman for over twenty years he played with John Lee Hooker, Canned Heat, John Mayall, and a who's who list of performers, before starting out on his own as a solo artist in Europe. He is very well known in the UK and Europe and unfortunately not very well known here in the USA, his home county. He currently has eight CD's available overseas and three have been released in the US. If you get a chance to see Walter Trout, do so. You will NOT be disappointed!!!!!
