HOW TO CLEAN YOUR BALI AND TURKISH STERLING SILVER

Bali and Turkish sterling silver typically has a design in the silver with a decorative black antique oxidized finish.

Do NOT use regular Silver Jewelry cleaner on this, because it will fade or remove the antique finish and it will never look the same.

Directions for proper care.

To maintain the original condition, polish your pieces regularly using a non-abrasive cleaning cloth. For a more thourough cleaning:

1. Take a pie tin and add approximately 3 -4 Tablespoons of water.

2. Pour 1 teaspoon of old fashion powdered (non-bleach) laundry detergent in it and mix.

3. Place the jewelry in and swish it around. Gently rub with a soft toothbrush if necessary.

4. Take jewelry out immediately and rinse and buff with a soft cloth or rag. Do not leave jewelry in detergent for an extended period of time as it may remove some of the etched black.

A sonic jewelry cleaner on delicate mode with a delicate solution can also be used. Do not leave in cleaner for more than 2 minutes.

Never use an ultrasonic cleaner, ammonia or any chemical solution to clean opaque gemstones, such as turquoise, malachite, onyx, lapis lazuli and opals. They are a porous stone and may absorb chemicals, which build up inside the stone and cause discoloration. Simply wipe them gently with a moist cloth until clean
