This class is designed for the beginner and assumes no prior knowledge of the subject. It covers the basic components of the astrological chart, familiarizing the student with the rudimentary vocabulary of astrology.
The class begins Wednesday, January 20 and ends March 24. It will be held at the Metropolitan Atlanta Astrological Society building, 2054 Harobi Drive, Tucker. The building is located right inside the perimeter at the LaVista Road Exit of I-285. Each class lasts 2 hours, starting at 7:00 p.m. Students are encouraged to take copious notes and are welcome to record the classes. Handouts will be provided. Each class will be recorded by the instructor and audio files will be e-mailed to you.
The fee for the 10 weeks is $165 for MAAS Members, $175 for Non-Members.* Once you commit to taking the class, you are responsible for paying the entire fee, via check or credit card. Payments can be split into two. If you are paying by check, you can write two checks at the beginning of the class, post-dating the second check effective the fifth week of the class. If you pay by credit card, you may charge the entire fee at once or charge half at the beginning of the class and the balance at the fifth week of class.
Supplies needed: Each student needs to bring an ephemeris calculated for Noon Greenwich time. It will be needed for Class #3. They can be purchased through MAAS at the first week of class.

Brief outline of the history of astrology, its past and present uses
Defining the primary components of the chart
Explanation of the qualities and elements
An in-depth look at the first four signs of the zodiac: Aries through Cancer
Class #2: An in-depth look at the fifth through twelfth signs of the zodiac, Leo through Pisces
Class #3:
The planets
Instruction on how to read an ephemeris
Class #4:
Rulerships, Exaltations, Detriments and Falls
Class #5:
The Houses of the chart
Class #6:
The aspects, the triplicities and quadruplicities
Class #7:
Putting it all together: an interpretation of a chart
Class #8:
An explanation of techniques for moving the chart forward: transits, progressions, solar arc directions
Class #9 and #10:
Leftovers: These classes will cover anything that may need further explanation and focus on students’ questions and answers.
Intermediate Astrology Class
This class is designed for those students who have learned the basic components of the chart and are now ready to focus on chart interpretation and learning how to move the chart forward using transits and progressions. We will interpret the charts of class members as well as prominent newsmakers, and will also look at transits and progressions for significant events in their lives.
The class begins Tuesday, January 19, 2010 and ends March 9, 2010. It will be held at the Metropolitan Atlanta Astrological Society, 2054 Harobi Drive, Tucker. The building is located just inside the perimeter at the LaVista Road exit off I-285. Each class lasts 2 hours, starting at 7:00 p.m. Students are encouraged to take copious notes and are free to record the classes. Handouts will be provided.
