About
Kathryn

Kathryn L. Silverton is a certified professional astrologer in practice since 1975. She holds a masters degree in psychology and is nationally certified by the American Federation of Astrologers. Kathryn has been writing her "In the Stars" column for United Airlines' in-flight magazine, Hemispheres, since October 1992 and has been a contributing writer to Atlanta's Aquarius newspaper equally as long. She currently serves as president of the Metropolitan Atlanta Astrological Society, and has been on the MAAS board since 2000, serving four years as president.

Kathryn has been heard on radio talk shows throughout the United States and hosted her own program. Callers are often surprised by the accuracy of her "instant readings," which are based on the date, time and place of a caller’s birth.

She has written articles for various publications, including Atlanta magazine, Maryland's Family Magazine and Charlotte Creative Loafing. She was mentioned in the 1991 World Series Edition of Sports Illustrated for predicting prior to the start of the "worst-to-first" season that the Atlanta Braves would go to the World Series in 1991. She also accurately predicted the end of the Persian Gulf War, before the ground war even began. Kathryn predicted the timing of the end of the baseball strike of 1995 and the winner of the 2000 presidential election. She recently accurately predicted the outcome of the 2001 mayoral race and three out of four winners of the City Council race for Charlotte, North Carolina, upon request of Charlotte Creative Loafing.

Articles about Kathryn have appeared in several publications, including the Atlanta Business Chronicle and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She was honored at the Eighth Annual Atlanta Journal Letter Writers’ Forum in 1988 for a letter to the editor regarding the historical practice of astrology in the United States and the status of astrology in Atlanta. In addition to consulting with clients throughout the world she also teaches astrology, including the mathematics of casting charts, and offers lectures to various organizations such as MENSA and Rotary Clubs.
