Looking East

This is a view of the temple looking toward the East. Of special interest are the beautiful marble altar and the surrounding brass candle sticks.

The Altar

This guilded altar of fine marble was presented to the masons of Charleston, South Carolina in 1868 [*1] by several brethren from Washington, D.C..

The Candle Sticks

These ornately crafted brass candle sticks are inscribed and dated from 1759. They were presented to Union Lodge No. 4 [chartered by the Provincial Grand Lodge of S.C.] by Union Kilwinning Lodge, No. 0 of Kilwinning, Scotland. [*2]
