EDISON LEE MCCONNELL DIES AT HIS HOME NEAR KETCHALL; ILL MONTHS
Deceased Was Engaged In Lumber Business With His Brother, W.J. McConnell
Edison Lee McConnell, aged 28 years, passed away thirty minutes after noon last Monday at his home above Ketchall, after a lingering illness, and was buried in the Gilliam graveyard nearby, the services at the grave being conducted by members of the Masonic order, of which he was an active member up until the time of his illness. Funeral Services at the home were conducted by Rev. M.J. Brown, former pastor of the Methodist church, of South Pittsburg, now of Red Bank. Surviving him are his mother, one brother, W.J. McConnell, and two sisters, Mrs. Murray McWilliams, of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Blanche Perry, of Cherokee, Ala., also a wife and one child. Deceased was a veteran of the World war, and a young man of upright character and had a host of friends who will mourn his early loss. In his declining days, he confided both to his wife and to others his faith in Christ and his willingness to go. ---South Pittsburg Hustler (date unknown)

SOUTH PITTSBURG Tenn, Aug 25 Edison Lee McConnell, ex-service man and prominent citizen of this county, died at his home near Kimball this afternoon at 12:20 o'clock, after an illness of about two years. He is survived by his wife, his mother, a sister, a brother and a child. Funeral services will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. S.C. Bailes officiating. Interment will follow in Gilliam cemetery with the Masons of South Pittsburg in charge. ---Chattanooga Times Special
