Probate Papers of the estate Of Wilson McConnell		
							
1) Bond to State of Indiana for $3,000 for the lawful administration
of the Wilson McConnell estate. Bonded person is William McConnell. 
Co-signed by Jacob P. Burredgr or Biorrelgs?			
							
2) Receipt for coffin for $8 to David Jasset dated Jun 21, 1845	
							
3) Receipt for medicines & medical attention from May 20, to 
June 2, 1845 to W. J. & W. C. Maletus Dr. Amount is $19.50.		
							
4) Receipt  #97. Received of William McConnell administrator of
the estate of Wilson McConnell deceased for state, county & road
taxes for the year 1845 on the following property - 59.3 acres,	
40 acres, 80 acres & 160 dollars personal property. The property 
description is given for each of the three plots but I am unable 
to decipher them. Receipt is dated Dec 23, 1845 and signed by		
Elias Carpenter Treasurer. Amount is for $5.46. Written in the 
margin is 546 - 247 = 299					
									
5) Receipt  #90. Received of William McConnell administrator of 
the estate of Wilson McConnell six dollars and one cent for state, 
county and road taxes for the year 1846. The same 3 properties		
are listed as in the 1845 tax receipt. Receipt is signed by 
Elias Carpenter - Treasurer Elkhart Co.				
One on side of the receipt is the following;

6) Receipt #96. Again for taxes for the same property. Total is $6.18. 
Receipt is dated Nov 11, 1847 and is signed by Silas Carpenter, Treasurer.
							
7) Receipt for one dollar for the appraisal of personal property 
for the Wilson McConnell estate. Receipt dated Feb 5, 1847 and signed 
by Daniel Perry.			
							
8) Receipt dated August 8, 1845 for auctioneering services of
David B. Mathew. Amount is for $3.			
							
9) Receipt for road taxes Township of Clinton for the year 1847 in the 
amount of $1.74. Signed by Moses Brown - Supervisor

11) Interestingly there is also an other inventory taken the same day
and signed by Mary McConnell. It includes many of the same items listed
above but leaves off many others. It sums to about $147. Apparently it
is a list of those items that Mary was keeping.

was cosigned by William and Joseph McConnell.			
This note  was for $100. Money was borrowed from		
the State of Indiana on May 29, 1841.  The money		
came from surplus tax funds held by the state and		
made available for certain loans.  Additional			
documents show that interest payments were made			
regularily from 1841 up until Wilson's death.
