W. J. MCCONNELL BATTLE CREEK, DIES

	William J. McConnell, prominent lumberman, passed away at his home in 
Battle Creek community near South Pittsburg after a brief illness.
	Surviving are his wife, three sons, Claude, Clyde and James: two daughters,
Mrs. C. R. Goff and Mrs. Joel McCurdy, all of Battle creek: one sister, Mrs. W. H.
Perry, Spencer, Tenn.
	Funeral services were conducted from the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock,
Rev. Arthur Hall officiating. Interment in the Gilliam cemetery.
